Transport or logistics is one of the most important links in an economy considered to be dynamic. However, the economy of a nation is the sum of the activities carried out by households but also and above all by companies. The latter need means of transport adapted to their products in order to guarantee not only the delivery but also the quality of the said products. To use temperature-controlled transport, here is what you need to know.
About temperature-controlled transport
All consumed, medical and veterinary products are transported under strict control of the laws and regulations in force in the countries. This is how we hear about the ATP agreement which defines the standards relating to hygiene, vehicles and the temperature in which the goods must be kept. These provisions aim to allow companies to transport their goods in healthy conditions and to deliver them to end consumers without damage harmful to human health.
Transport under controlled temperature or controlled temperature transport was therefore set up in order to maintain control over the temperatures of products that had to meet health requirements. Sometimes, it is also necessary to transport the products under a controlled temperature, especially when they are shipped during the hot season or to areas where the temperatures rise exponentially!
Many products classified in 3 main categories must be transported with care. These are fresh products or goods, industrial products and finally products that are not edible. In the list of fresh products, we have frozen or deep-frozen products, fresh vegetables, products from the sea, and many other products whose temperature must remain between -18° and 4° C. Industrial products such as chocolate, bakery as far as they are concerned need a temperature between 15°C and 25°C. Classified as inedible, plants, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals have strict requirements put in place in temperature-controlled transport
What precautions should be taken to ensure proper maintenance of product temperature?
There are various measures that are taken by companies in order to maintain their products at the right temperature. But among the latter, those that are acclaimed are the use of suitable packaging (an insulated box or a refrigerated container) or the use of a refrigerated truck at controlled temperature. Some companies even use isothermal blankets for products that do not require demanding temperature control but which will nevertheless allow them to maintain an ambient temperature during transport. Temperature-controlled transport precautions must therefore be taken depending on the type of products to be delivered and their destination of receipt.
And, even after defining the nature of your products, it is absolutely necessary to use the temperature monitoring device during transport. It is provided as part of controlled temperature transport and allows, once at destination, to check any temperature variations that the goods may have experienced during the journey and to take the necessary measures in this specific case. It’s really an excellent way to avoid delivering products that will look healthy but defective because they have suffered thermal shocks contrary to expectations. In most cases, it is advisable to entrust the transport of temperature-controlled products to a specialized company in order to guarantee the best transport and delivery conditions
